Did you know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month?
The American Cancer Society estimates that 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed among women around the world this year, and chances are you know someone who has been diagnosed herself.
This week’s Smilebox of the Week comes from a breast cancer survivor named Brandi Palmer. As an early-detection-advocate, Brandi created this breast cancer awareness slideshow to share her story and encourage women to regularly get checked for breast cancer. Says Brandi:
It is my wish that this video/slide show will promote early detection and awareness while hopefully saving a few lives along the way.
Do you know anyone who has had breast cancer? Did they benefit from early detection?
Note: This Smilebox contains partial nudity in a medical setting in order to honestly convey the true nature of breast cancer. Please use discretion while viewing this video.
