NEW YORK, NOVEMBER 11, 2009 –- Hearst Magazines Digital Media and Smilebox today announced a partnership to provide CountryLiving.com and GoodHousekeeping.com visitors with a unique way to celebrate, share and preserve life's special moments. With more than 900 templates, Smilebox supports all personal media (photos, videos and music), content types (ecards, slideshows, scrapbooking designs, photobooks and postcards) and sharing methods (email, print, burn to DVD, blog and post). Smilebox and Hearst will jointly create custom templates designed for holidays and special occasions to complement Hearst editorial and promote them to their respective audiences. "We are continually searching for ways to engage our site visitors and present them with unique tools to personalize their experience throughout the Hearst Magazines Digital Media network," said Chuck Cordray, senior vice president and general manager of Hearst Magazines Digital Media. "Not only will this partnership drive new sources of traffic, it will also create customized advertising opportunities and generate revenue from downstream Smilebox subscriptions and sales."
Smilebox and Hearst will create branded multimedia designs to both complement and augment online and print editorial features. These designs will be cross-promoted on CountryLiving.com and GoodHousekeeping.com, as well as on the Smilebox network of more than 8 million users. The sponsored design offerings will provide advertisers with deeper brand engagement and association of their brand with personal moments. They will also drive viral impact among their customers' networks through emails, personal blogs and social network postings.
"Smilebox is very pleased to be partnering with Hearst Magazines Digital Media on this unique content, distribution and advertising partnership," said Andrew Wright, founder and CEO of Smilebox, Inc.
